tl:dr FarCon sponsorship for Summit and FarHack Builders Day to support the premiere Farcaster annual event.
FarCon is a community organized event going into its third annual iteration. This year, FarCon will be held in New York City, May 1-4 with a Builder's Day hackathon on Thursday, a full-day Summit on Friday, and various community organized side events throughout the weekend.
Nouns has an opportunity to sponsor the media and podcast area for the FarCon 2025 Summit and a bounty for FarHack's Builders Day. This prop also has built in a swag budget to proliferate to attendees, as well as a spot in the merch area.
GM Farcaster is the media partner for FarCon and will take over the mezzanine overseeing the Summit speaker space with guests invited into our podcast area after their talks. The vision is a nounified space included in all streaming and recorded content. In addition, professionally designed signage with nouns branding will be visible from the main FarCon Summit floor.
In addition to proliferation at the event, the content produced will be available on all platforms reaching a broad audience and will include Nouns branding. Professional audio/video will be on site to capture the event and GM Farcaster will have access to all recordings. We'll also be streaming periodically from all events with the professional final footage dropped after. Nouns will also be included with all FarCon partners on announcements etc.
FarCon is opening with FarHack Builders Day hackathon and Nouns has an opportunity to offer a bounty for this event. With this bounty, Nouners will have a chance to pick their favorite project from Builders Day and determine the winner. For token gated voting, we will use the FarHack app. More to come on this closer to the event. This will provide an opportunity for those unable to attend FarCon to participate. Nouns will be featured alongside the other partners and bounty sponsors in Builders Day promotions.
As part of this prop, Nouns will have an opportunity to gift nounish swag to attendess. The plan is a mix of FunNoggles, pins and Nounish Friends from Big Shot Noun Works for Nouners & VIPs, Purple noggle sunglasses (Moti noggles) already provided by BuilderDAO, and other merch designed for this occasion for maximum proliferation of Nouns, Lil Nouns and Nouns Builder DAOs.
In addition, there will be a space reserved in the merch area for Nouns esports, Butter.wtf and Yellow Collective to sell nounish merch.
So what is FarCon and why should Nouns be a part of this event? The first FarCon was a community organized 2 day event held in June 2023 in Boston with 70 Farcasters in attendance. This small but powerful inaugural event included a panel on DAOs sponsored by BuilderDAO, paper noggles and some other swag provided via a BuilderDAO prop. Purple (a DAO built on Nouns Builder) was also a sponsor of this and the second FarCon. Chris CoCreated from various nounish communities also had a creator session. Even in this small first FarCon, Nouns was prominent.
In 2024, a new crew of Farcasters brought FarCon to Venice Beach with a bigger event over 4 days with a one day Summit, hackathon and multiple side events. GM Farcaster opened day 2 with a live interview with Farcaster co-founders Dan and Varun in their first podcast together (with noggles on stage and on all branding). We followed that with two panels exploring onchain media. This event included Bagels and Builders sponsored by BuilderDAO. AND lots of purple noggles!
FarCon is community organized with the encouragement of the Farcaster founders but is not organized by them. As one of the largest communities on Warpcast with Farcaster incorporated into so many of our props and projects, it's a natural fit for Nouns to be one of the sponsors and supporters of FarCon. This also will provide a great proliferation opportunity not only at the event itself but via the content created during and after.
Nouns has been permissionlessly profliferated at FarCon and now is a great time to make this support official at the only officially unofficial Farcaster conference. The total ask for this prop is 8.5 eth to cover the FarCon Summit sponsorship, Builders Day bounty and swag.
