Hello Nounish friends! We had a glimpse of our vision for Nouns as public installation; real world public goods & artifact that can enhance brand equity with Prop 489 & 570.
We aim to continue expanding on this vertical & vision. After taking in all the vwr from Prop 703 and after much discussion with Central Academy of Fine Art College (CAFA), we are proud to re-propose as we bring the iconic Noggle, ⌐◨-◨, from Nouns to life as a permanent public artifact at CAFA located in Beijing, placing Nouns directly into the heart of a creative community.
Prestigious Institution: As China’s leading fine arts academy, CAFA fosters interdisciplinary collaboration and idea exchange, aligning seamlessly with Nouns’ values of innovation, open expression, and positive-sum thinking.
Strategic Placement: Installing Noggle at CAFA positions Nouns in a leading creative hub, ideal for introducing its brand and CC0 principles to an audience of emerging artists and innovators.
Educational Impact: SBH, a CAFA lecturer, designer and our liaison is uniquely positioned to integrate Noggle into his classes as a case study to highlight open-source art and CC0 licensing, sparking discussions on creativity, collaboration, and unrestricted sharing with his students.
This strategic placement amplifies Nouns’ visibility and fosters meaningful engagement across diverse artistic platforms.
The installation, titled "Noggle", will serves as an iconic representation of Nouns’ playful essence, creative spirit and open-source ethos. Integrated mirrors around the eye section create a striking visual effect, transforming the space into an interactive mirror room that invites fun and immersive engagement.
Below are render of the installation, based on the actual site:
1. Cultural Visibility: The installation will serve as an interactive landmark at China’s most prestigious art academy, showcasing and enhance Nouns' cultural reach.
2. Inclusion parameter: As a hub for national and international art exchanges, CAFA attracts art professionals and officials from around the world. Noggle will serve as a storytelling centerpiece, elevating Nouns’ visibility and presence within a wider art community IRL.
3. Open-source Ethos: Serve to inspire student, educators, and visitors. Aims to be a symbol that encourage open-source practices and provoke creative thinking about CC0 art and the exploration of Nouns. (p.s CAFA College is open to the public)
4. Window to Nouns: With a physical installation and SBH's integration of it into his classes, we aim to attract highly aligned and curious folks, who can actively engage in Nouns' onchain governance as delegates, enriching the ecosystem with fresh perspectives and voices. (Similar to PNouns, Nouns Amigos, Lintcouncil, Nouncil and Nounsdeli)
Targeting approx. 15-20 members as a start and scale from there. (Imagine a school club but onchain with Nouns)
We will have a unveiling ceremony with a general run of show split into 3 segments and the theme is centered to the core of Nouns where attendees can come together to get inspired, make memories and celebrate ⌐◨-◨.
We will also be using this unveiling ceremony as a channel to gather folks that are curious about Nouns and later curate highly aligned folks from this pool.
Segment 1 - Exploring ⌐◨-◨: Homage to Nouns as an infinite work of art, this segment will bring to live various nounish art curated from the wider Nouns ecosystem (i.e Nouns draw rounds, Nouns O clock, Yellow collectives and more!), expect an immersive celebration of Nounish creativity.
Plus, a hot mic session with Karl and Nic, where we share and surface the best of ⌐◨-◨ as powerful public good engine.
Segment 2 - Nounish film: This segment will feature major Nouns productions like "The Rise of Blus: A Nouns Movie" and "Nouns Short Shorts", highlighting the diversity of ⌐◨-◨ and offering attendees the chance to experience Nouns in various exciting formats
Segment 3 - Nouns Superpower: In this segment, we invite everyone to experience firsthand what a community-owned brand like Nouns feels like. Join in on creating a community mural, where all attendees are encouraged to grab a paint marker and add their own flavor.
There will also be a painting station, where attendees can bring Nouns Piggy Bank (funded by Prop 709) to life.
The total proposed budget is 90,760 USDC (13.5% reduction), with an allocation as follows:
