TLDR: Rebranding Oshi to The Nounge FOREVER not for 3 months, not for 6 months, not for 12 months. But. The. Nounge. Everyday. Forever…
After two years becoming the web3 culture hub as OSHI, we're ready to fully embrace the Nouns ecosystem by rebranding as The Nounge. This shift will amplify our impact not only in the web3 space but also in creating a safe, open space for learning, collaboration, and community. The Nounge will bring greater visibility to our ongoing work and help us build a self-sustaining community focused venue that consistently showcases the Nouns brand and shares its ethos with new audiences.
The Nounge will stay true to OSHI's "Culture before capital" motto, serving as a hub for education, tech, and creative collaboration among Nouners and the community alike. Our rebranding will focus on onboarding and introducing the public to the power of Nouns. Including rebranding across all of our social media platforms and a new website build. Offering a venue for engagement with the web3 space and interaction with the Australian and International Nouns community.
We have hosted numerous Nouns events, including the Nouns-funded Pizza Dao in 2023 and 2024, each attracting over 200 attendees. These events featured a venue makeover, Nouns-themed decor, and a custom-made 8-bit video game by local creator, Marka, that was a highlight for many.
We've also conducted 'Create your own Noun' art workshops at exhibitions and schools, donating art supplies and recently during the Nouns Variety Bash raising money for local primary schools. Additionally, we've built a life-sized "Big Hearted Noun" costume for the Variety Children's Charity 2023 Christmas Party, fabricated life-size Noggles bench seats, and helped raise thousands of dollars for Australian charities through Nouns CCO.
The Nounge Digital Mural will be a pioneering, culture-first digital billboard showcasing Nouns Dao, web3 brands, crypto, DeFi, DAOs, NFTs, tech, and the cultural impact of art and creators. Running 24/7, this dynamic digital mural at The Nounge, located at 386 Smith Street, Collingwood, will become a staple of local street culture in Australia's premiere Web3 institution.
Why Smith Street? It's the art and tech hub of Australia, situated on Melbourne’s third busiest tram line, with over 50,000+ daily commuters. Over 12 months, the Digital Mural could easily achieve >18 million impressions.
With >95% of past events at OSHI being free and open to the public, the Digital Mural will provide a consistent revenue stream by curating and selling ad slots, supporting these communities and engaging more people in web3 and the Nouns ecosystem. The Nounge Digital Mural is projected to generate $5-10k per week, covering overheads, contributing to sustainability, and funding future free events within The Nounge.
Nouns Dao will have exclusive access to 3 ad slots, updated via an online portal, running 24/7, 365 days a year—offering continuous exposure for Nouns. These ad slots will be able to be updated daily and have the potential to garner a huge public response and celebrate the work the Nouns Community has done over the years by leveraging a public 24/7 billboard.
The Nounge will commit 5% of the revenue generated from the Digital Mural towards purchasing auctioned Nouns.
In the unlikely event that council permits are not approved, 100% of the Escrow amount will be returned to the DAO. Having worked with this council for over a decade, and after recently engaging the necessary parties, we are confident that the permits will be approved.
The Nounge will be a cultural hub dedicated to public good events, hosting initiatives by groups such as Creative AI Melbourne, Blockchain RMIT, Women in Tech, and the Australian Computer Society. This space is available free of charge for educational events like hackathons, group online gaming nights, charity auctions, Web3 master classes, art and creative workshops, and practical sessions like "How to Noun for Dummies," among others.
The Nounge will also serve as a free co-working space, ideal for meetings, project work, and collaborations. In Melbourne, where co-working spaces can cost upwards of $50 per day, providing a free alternative at The Nounge is expected to significantly boost community engagement and exposure for The Nounge.
The Nounge will feature an onsite coffee machine and offer rotating CC0 recipes from Nouns Deli, a well-known deli in Malvern, Melbourne, it is famous for its deli-style sandwiches. Servicing the guests in the co-working space, events and passes by.
Over the past two years, OSHI Gallery has co-hosted events with an average attendance of 100 people, with over 40% of attendees being first-time visitors. This has resulted in a steady stream of new subscribers for upcoming events. Each event consistently attracts a growing audience, directly exposing the Nouns community to new people with every Nouns-powered event.
The Nounge will curate and collaborate with creatives and Nouns brands to present twelve exhibitions over the next twelve months, each featuring an official opening night and will be free and open to the public to attend.
These exhibitions will showcase artists from the Nouns ecosystem and beyond, leveraging The Nounge’s high-foot-traffic location and state-of-the-art digital displays. As one of the world's leading digital galleries, The Nounge offers artists unparalleled exposure. Known for developing world-first events that attract significant attention, The Nounge team is committed to fostering collaboration with innovative businesses in the Nouns space.
As part of this initiative, we will also build a merchandise shop stocking Nounish products, including Bigshot Toyworks, Noggles, apparel, skateboards, and more.
Past exhibitions have been featured in prominent publications such as the Australian Financial Review (3.5 million readers), ABC News (5.4 million monthly viewers), Herald Sun (2.5 million readers), Medici Minutes (30,000+ subscribers), and The Guardian (6.7 million monthly readers).
Past activations, bespoke builds with brands like Star Wars, Marvel, Disney, Australian Open and more that the team at OSHI has curated, built and installed.
The Nounge will be a community hub and digital mural offering unparalleled exposure for the Nouns brand, positioning it at the heart of Melbourne's vibrant cultural and tech scene. Located on Smith Street, Collingwood, this strategic placement enhances public perception and engagement with Nouns, aligning it with Australia’s creative epicentre.
OSHI Gallery a Web3 digital art gallery has been renowned for hosting exclusive events and world-firsts, has collaborated with industry giants such as Warner Music, Sony Music (including Tyler, the Creator’s GOLF WANG), Ed Sheeran, Gorillaz, Bring Me the Horizon, Parkway Drive, and Paramore. This history of high-profile partnerships ensures that The Nounge digital billboard will reach a diverse and influential audience.
Situated in a bustling, dynamic area, Oshi has been the epicenter of unique events, including Metamask x Dead Fellaz collaborations, Blockchain Australia panel talks, DAO Debates, AFTR Hours DJ and live music events, Voxels showcases, Federation Square projects, VIP afterparties, workshops, and panel talks. With state-of-the-art facilities and a massive projection space, as The Nounge we will continue to attract tech enthusiasts, music lovers, and innovators.
In just two years, Oshi has hosted over 75,000 people, making it an ideal location for capturing attention and driving engagement. A digital mural here not only elevates your brand’s visibility externally but also embeds it within a community that values innovation, creativity, and cultural significance.
Aligning the Nouns brand with The Nounge, a venue that epitomizes cutting-edge experiences and cultural relevance, will significantly enhance public perception and interaction with the brand. This fosters a deeper connection and amplifies the impact of Nouns.
Beyond exposure and revenue, The Nounge ecosystem enables ongoing public engagement through meaningful, real-life connections and learning experiences, driving growth and innovation both in Australia and beyond.
“This is not just a venue space, this is a place where we the hosts at The Nounge actually live the culture and are at the forefront of its evolution. We are connected to this industry, we facilitate onboarding and educating people on the Nouns ecosystem, through our open to the public events and social interactions.” Jane The Nounge (Oshi) Director
Over the past 2yrs OSHI has purpose built a custom IRL space for the web3 community, a safe place to call home, inviting the general public in up to 7 days a week.
We have had a full Lidar 3D scan of the venue inside and out so that you can walk through each area and have a sense of how the space can be utilized, right down to our unique bathrooms. That’s right we have #instagrammable bathrooms!
