Sup Nouns! We are a female Counter-Strike team initially funded through a Prop-House round by Nouns Esports. We have had a very successful trial period of 3 months and have continued to represent Nouns without pay for the past 3 months (most of our professional season). We are now asking the DAO to double down and empower us to take things to the next level by funding our journey till the end of the year.
A couple things about us:
(disclaimer: we are not becoming our own DAO - enjoy the graphic ^ ~^)
Hello Nouns! ⌐◨w◨
Originally forming as "Category 5" in May '23, we sought to storm the female esports scene with a fiery, feel-good story of friends who found success doing what they love most! After a few tournament wins, we knew we could accomplish something great.
We continued to aim for growth both individually and as a team, and have done so since. In our quest to grow, we were searching for like-minded partnerships to create cool stuff with, as well as playing in as many events as possible to gain more experience.
As players aspiring to become the best of the best, we kept an eye on the top teams, which put Nouns Esports on our radar.
Through Nouns Esports, we hopped down the Nouns rabbit hole. We learned about Prop House, and realized that this was the perfect opportunity to prove our worth and the ideal environment to nurture our growth. After joining their contributor call and asking many questions, we built and finalized a candidate draft. Multiple iterations later, we hit submit :)
Campaigning around Nouns Esports was the most fun part of the process. We were inspired by our nounish friends who have contributed to the virtuous cycle, and seeing firsthand what they've built.
We were super lucky to become part of that process, with our first prop passing with 8 votes here. :D
Now waving the Nouns flag in the women's esports scene, we qualified to ESL Impact Season 5. ESL Impact is the top professional league for women & marginalized genders. As one of our goals from our first prop, this was a huge milestone for us - accomplished through our hardwork as well as additional resources from Nouns Esports❣
As of today, we have come a long way as a team and our aspirations have grown. We are now a top 5 women's team in North America as well as regular competitors in regional tournaments, all while sporting nounish gear & and making content for socials!
Inspired by Nouns Esports, along with their support, we've decided to write a prop ourselves! We have always been autonomous in our management, and submitting a prop to the DAO seemed like the natural next step for us, and a big flex in the diversity of our skill sets. Through the funding, we will be able to provide a salary that is sustainable for our members to keep prioritizing competition and content. This would empower us to keep our rose tinted noggles on and pursue the professional nounish lifestyle that we dream of.
Through being great ambassadors in the scene, we will help write the next chapter of Nouns becoming a household name. In doing so, we hope to inspire other women into being competitors and creators in the gaming space as well. With the votes of some friendly neighborhood Nouns, we'll be able to constantly push for greater performance, while strengthening the personal bond between our audience, our players, and the DAO.
Since our debut within Nouns, the team dove head first into the ⌐◧w◨ culture.
Here are some things that have been written about us:
Yes, you read that right!!! Thanks to onizuka's delegation, we are now sharing the power of Nouns 117 and 271 to be actively voting on NounsDAO Proposals. At the moment, we have a separate channel in our discord specifically for discussing, learning about, and voting on current proposals (taking some notes from you, Nouncil 👀).
Total content views while repping Nouns: 560,284+
(Includes Twitter, TikTok, Farcaster, YouTube, Instagram, Twitch - all avenues which we rep the DAO)
NounsFE is the first ever esports roster on Farcaster!
We will be incentivizing our supporters, as well as the larger CS community to join us, by hosting a variety of rounds or contests within the CS2 channel (+gaming channels, nounish channels, and potentially our own!). We believe we can onboard Counter-Strike fans onchain through fun rounds and contests
We'll be encouraging our community to create content, nounish memes, and art to infuse culture into the wider female and co-ed Counter-Strike space, with a boost from web3. We believe our audience would be totally on board with this, given the already vibrant digital market in Counter-Strike.
We plan to host:
Also, when we make it to LAN events like DreamHack, we'd love to help host a workshop/booth with Nouns Esports for women and new competitors aspiring to enter professional gaming.
Duration: 8 Months (May-December)
